Pacific HealthWorks Data Breach Investigation

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Pacific HealthWorks, LLC (“PHW”), regarding a potential data security incident. The PHW cybersecurity incident may have impacted the privacy of sensitive personal information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

ABOUT PACIFIC HEALTHWORKS LLC:

PHW is a physician practice management company located in California. Founded in 2008, PHW manages hospital-based physician group practices in ER, Hospitalist, Intensivist, Anesthesia, Psychiatry, Scribe, and other services.2 Today, PHW provides services to over 70 entities, 1,200 providers, and over 1.4 million patients annually.2 Headquartered in El Segundo, California, PHW employs over 50 individuals.3

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, online sources reported that PHW had experienced a cyberattack resulting in a data breach. The investigation identified PHW and  sister company La Perouse, another West Coast-based healthcare management service organization (MSO), had patient files stolen by a ransomware gang .1 According to the sources, alleged samples of the leaked data contained information that could have impacted both patients and employees:

  • Name
  • Social security number
  • Date of birth
  • Address
  • Email/phone number
  • Health records (e.g., medical and billing records, and diagnosis codes)
  • Health insurance information

 

As of August 19, 2025, PHW has not commented on nor confirmed whether it has suffered a data breach.
