Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Highlands Oncology Group PA (“Highlands Oncology”) regarding its recent data breach. The Highlands Oncology data breach involved sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information belonging to over 113,000 individuals.

ABOUT HIGHLANDS ONCOLOGY GROUP PA:

Highlands Oncology is a multidisciplinary medical practice specializing in the treatment of cancer and blood disorders. Offering a comprehensive approach to patient care, Highlands Oncology provides a variety of services, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, diagnostic imaging, pharmacy services, rehabilitation and massage, surgical oncology, physical and occupational therapy, and massage therapy. Headquartered in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Highlands Oncology has five additional locations serving Northwest Arkansas and employs over 500 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Highlands Oncology announced that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on June 2, 2025, Highlands Oncology discovered it was the victim of a cyber-attack, and certain of its files and systems were inaccessible.1 As a result, Highlands Oncology launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, Highlands Oncology confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party between January 21, 2025, and June 2, 2025. As a result, Highlands Oncology began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number

  • Driver’s license or state identification number
  • Passport number
  • Financial account number

As a result of the data breach, Highlands Oncology posted a notice of the incident on its website.
