Mesa Natural Gas Solutions Data Breach Investigation

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Mesa reported to the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the sample breach notice, on May 13, 2025, an incident occurred where the personal information of Mesa employees and potential employees may have been exposed. In the sample breach notice, Mesa does not elaborate on the nature of the incident that impacted its systems. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:4

  • Name
  • Social Security number

 

As a result of the data breach, Mesa began providing notice to impacted individuals. Based on the notice sent to Massachusetts residents, Mesa is providing affected individuals with 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.1 A link to the breach report filed by the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is below.
