Moviynt is a software solutions company based in New York. Founded in 2018, Moviynt offers comprehensive mobile solutions on its Mobilium® platform that leverages offline computing, device integration features, real-time visibility, and ease of use to assist business operations.2 Today, Moviynt is a wholly owned subsidiary of Vuzix Corporation. Headquartered in West Henrietta, New York, Moviynt employs over 10 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Moviynt reported to the Attorney General of New Hampshire that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, Moviynt recently learned that an unauthorized individual obtained access to two employee email accounts.1 As a result, Moviynt launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, on June 12, 2025, Moviynt confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party between February 27 and March 6, 2025. As a result, Moviynt began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
On July 8, 2025, Moviynt began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to New Hampshire residents, Moviynt is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
