Bardmoor Cancer Center Data Breach Investigation

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Bardmoor Cancer Center discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive protected health information in its systems may have been accessed. On June 27, 2025, Bardmoor Cancer Center field official notice of the data breach with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office for Civil Rights. 1 Though much information is still not known about the Bardmoor Cancer Center breach, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ reporting guidelines require entities to report data breaches when they involve protected health information. Therefore, it is likely that the Bardmoor Cancer Center breach included the protected health information belonging to over 900 individuals. As a result of the data breach, Bardmoor Cancer Center may soon begin notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted.
