WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, London Properties reported to the Attorney General of California that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised.4 According to the breach notice, on August 29, 2024, London Properties identified unusual activity on its data server storing accounting information provided to it by current and former staff, vendors, real estate agents, and other brokers.1 As a result, London Properties launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, London Properties confirmed that an unauthorized third party had obtained access to sensitive personal information in its systems during the breach.1 As a result, London Properties began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted, as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Address
- Banking information
On May 30, 2025, London Properties began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to California residents, London Properties is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
