Genex Services, LLC Data Breach Investigation

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Genex Services, LLC, a part of the Enlyte family of business, regarding its recent data breach. The Genex Services data breach involved sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information belonging to over 4,300 individuals.

ABOUT GENEX SERVICES, LLC:

Genex Services is an insurance and clinical management company based in Pennsylvania.2 Founded in 1978, Genex Services specializes in managed health care/workers’​ compensation claims, social security disability, and workers’​ compensation insurance.2,3 Headquartered in Wayne, Pennsylvania, Genex Services has local representatives in all 50 U.S. states. 4

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Genex Services reported to the Attorney General of California that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on February 25, 2025, Genex Services became aware of suspicious activity on certain portions of its network. 1 As a result, Genex Services launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, Genex Services determined that they were victim of a phishing attack and confirmed that sensitive personal information within its email environment may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party on January 22, 2025. 1 As a result, Genex Services began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted, as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Address
  • Driver’s license number
  • Financial account information (e.g., account number, credit or debit card number)
  • Medical information
  • Health insurance information
  • Date of Birth

 

On July 9, 2025, Genex Services began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. 5 Based on the breach notice sent to California residents, Genex Services is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
