WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Bruckner’s Truck & Equipment reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, a bad actor gained access to a database that stores some of the files related to Bruckner’s Truck & Equipment’s current and former employees through a brute force attack. 1 As a result, Bruckner’s Truck & Equipment launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Bruckner’s Truck & Equipment confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party between May 20, 2025, and May 21, 2025. As a result, Bruckner’s Truck & Equipment began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

- Social Security number
- Military ID number
- Passport number
- Date of birth
- Tax identification number
- Driver’s license number or other government ID number
- Health Insurance information
- Health and medical information in connection with workers’ compensation claims
On July 9, 2025, Bruckner’s Truck & Equipment began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals.
