WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Ober Mountain reported to the Attorney General of Massachusetts that the sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, Ober Mountain identified suspicious activity within its network on November 15, 2024.1 As a result, Ober Mountain launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Ober Mountain confirmed unauthorized activity in its systems on May 1, 2025.1 As a result, Ober Mountain began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted, as well as identify the specific individuals affected. This review concluded on June 10, 2025. The type of information potentially exposed has not yet been disclosed by Ober Mountain.
On July 8, 2025, Ober Mountain began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Massachusetts residents, Ober Mountain is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
