With origins dating back to 1893, HEXPOL provides services including rubber, TPE, and thermoplastic compounding through a network of development labs, production facilities, and technical support centers across North America.2 Today, HEXPOL operates multiple facilities in Ohio, North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Texas, California, and more.3
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, HEXPOL reported to the Attorney General of California that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, HEXPOL detected unauthorized access to their network on December 22, 2024.1 As a result, HEXPOL launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, HEXPOL confirmed that copies of certain files may have been copied from their network by an unauthorized actor.1 As a result, HEXPOL began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. This review concluded on June 25, 2025. The type of information potentially exposed has not yet been disclosed by HEXPOL.
On July 3, 2025, HEXPOL began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to California residents, HEXPOL is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
