Iron County Medical Center Data Breach Investigation

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Iron County Medical Center (“ICMC”) regarding its recent data breach. The ICMC data breach involved sensitive personal information and protected health information belonging to over 10,000 individuals.

ABOUT IRON COUNTY MEDICAL CENTER:

ICMC is a medical system based in Missouri. Today, ICMC provides healthcare services to individuals and families in a variety of areas, including primary care, inpatient care, radiology, rheumatology, urology, women’s health, family care, cardiology, outpatient therapy, surgery, rehab, laboratory services, and emergency services.2 ICMC is headquartered in Pilot Knob, Missouri.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, ICMC discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive protected health information in its systems may have been accessed. On June 18, 2025, ICMC filed official notice of the data breach with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office for Civil Rights.1 Though much information is still not known about ICMC breach, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ reporting guidelines require entities to report data breaches when they involve protected health information. Therefore, it is likely that ICMC breach included the protected health information belonging to over 10,000 individuals. As a result of the data breach, ICMC may soon begin notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted.
