WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Raymond James reported to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. In the formal breach notice, Raymond James does not elaborate on the nature of the security incident that impacted its systems. However, as a result of the breach, Raymond James began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Annuity Policy Number
On June 12, 2025, Raymond James began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Massachusetts residents, Raymond James is providing affected individuals with notice and 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
