Founded in 2007, CWC provides general building construction services ranging from design-build and project management to tenant improvements and remodels.3 The industries served by CWC include retail, commercial, education, and healthcare.3 Headquartered in Murrieta, California, CWC employs over 20 individuals.4
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, CWC reported to the Attorney General of California that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been accessed. According to the breach notice, on May 29, 2025, CWC discovered unauthorized access to their internal data systems.1 As a result, CWC launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, CWC confirmed that certain files containing private information may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party on or about May 29, 2025.1 As a result CWC began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license or California ID number
- Bank account numbers
- Medical or health insurance information
- Other information provided as part of employment records
On June 6, 2025, CWC began to notify impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to California residents, CWC is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
