Founded in 2000, WaterStreet specializes in property and casualty insurance software, offering solutions and cloud-based software to insurance carriers, MGAs, and start-ups.2 Headquartered in Kalispell, Montana, WaterStreet employs over 50 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, WaterStreet reported to the Attorney General of Maine that the sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on March 17, 2025, WaterStreet discovered suspicious activity related to its environment.1 As a result, WaterStreet launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, WaterStreet confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, WaterStreet began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted, as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name

On May 7, 2025, WaterStreet began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Maine residents, WaterStreet is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
