Founded in 2000, Scrubs & Beyond offers a variety of clothing products for healthcare professionals, including scrub tops and pants, jackets, lab coats, jumpsuits, and a range of footwear options such as athletic shoes, clogs, slippers, and socks. Today, Scrubs & Beyond operates 122 stores in 30 states nationwide and is one of the largest scrubs-based ecommerce businesses.3 Additionally, Scrubs & Beyond is a part of Kindthread, a portfolio of brands that also includes Landau, White Cross, and Chefwear.4 Headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, Scrubs & Beyond employs over 500 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Kindthread announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on June 7, 2024, Kindthread became aware of unauthorized activity on its computer network.1 As a result, Kindthread launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Kindthread confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party between June 6 and June 9, 2024. As a result, Kindthread began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On April 16, 2025, Kindthread completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Driver’s license number
- Passport information
- Financial account information
- Medical information
- Health insurance information
- Account username and password
On May 1, 2025, Kindthread posted a notice of the incident on its website. Additionally, on May 1, 2025, Kindthread began sending breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the website breach notice, Kindthread is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
