Founded in 1974, Divaris provides a variety of real estate services, including landlord and tenant representation, investment sales and acquisitions, property management, retail consulting, repositioning, development, and project management.3 Today, Divaris represents many national retail and office tenants, and leases and manages approximately 31 million square feet of commercial property in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast.4 Headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Divaris has 7 additional locations across the United States and employs over 50 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Divaris announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on or around May 31, 2024, Divaris detected unauthorized access to its network environment.1 As a result, Divaris launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, on April 4, 2025, Divaris confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party between May 2 and May 31, 2024. As a result, Divaris began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Driver’s license or state ID number
- Passport number
- Taxpayer ID number
- Account and routing numbers
- Medical information
- Health insurance information
As a result of the data breach, Divaris posted a notice of the incident on its website. Additionally, on May 1, 2025, Divaris began sending breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the website breach notice, Divaris is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
