Auxilio Mutuo Hospital Data Breach Investigation

Recently, Auxilio Mutuo Hospital announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on September 23, 2023, the Department of Homeland Security informed Auxilio Mutuo Hospital that its systems may be the target of a cyberattack.¹ As a result, Auxilio Mutuo Hospital launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

• Health insurance information (such as primary, secondary, or other health plans/policies, insurance companies, member/group identification numbers, and government-Medicaid-Medicare payer identification numbers)

As a result of the data breach, Auxilio Mutuo Hospital posted a notice of the incident on its website.
