WHAT HAPPENED?
On April 6, 2025, Sensata experienced a ransomware incident that has encrypted certain devices in its network.1 In response, Sensata took its network offline and launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident. During the initial stages of its investigation, Sensata discovered that the incident impacted its operations, including shipping, receiving, manufacturing production, and various other support functions.1 While Sensata has implemented interim measures to allow for the restoration of certain functions, the timeline for a full restoration is not yet known.1 Additionally, the preliminary investigation identified evidence that files were taken from Sensata’s environment.1 On April 6, 2025, Sensata reported the incident in a Form 8-K filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. As of April 17, 2025, Sensata’s investigation is ongoing and further details have not been made publicly available by Sensata.
