Life University is a college focused on chiropractic care education. Founded in 1975 as Life Chiropractic College, Life University offers programs for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as the ability to become a Doctor of Chiropratic.2 Today, undergrad majors at Life University include anatomy and physiology, biology, nutrition, business administration, interdisciplinary studies, exercise science, and more. WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Life University announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been accessed. According to the breach notice, on July 30, 2024, Life University experienced a network disruption that impacted the functionality and access of certain systems.1 As a result, Life University launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Life University confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been compromised by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, Life University began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On March 28, 2025, Life University completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Address
- Driver’s license number
- Credit card or financial account information
- Medical information
- Health insurance information
On April 2, 2025, Life University posted a notice of the incident on its website. Additionally, on the same day, Life University began sending breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the website breach notice, Life University is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
