Founded in 2006, SoloPoint delivers temporary and contract staffing solutions, as well as direct hire recruitment services in the Orange County, the Bay Area and the Great Lakes states.2 Today, SoloPoint serves a variety of industries, including biotech and life sciences, medical device, semiconductor equipment, automation, aerospace, industrial, and consumer electronics.3 SoloPoint has two locations in California and one location in Wisconsin.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, SoloPoint reported to the Attorney General of California that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, on January 15, 2025, SoloPoint experienced suspicious activity on its server.1 As a result, SoloPoint launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, SoloPoint confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems belonging to employees may have been compromised by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, SoloPoint began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Address
- Date of birth
- Driver’s license number
- Passport or other government identification numbers
- Bank routing and account numbers for direct deposit
On March 28, 2025, SoloPoint began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to California residents, SoloPoint is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
