WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, ATLAS reported to the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that the sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been accessed. According to the breach notice, on or around December 10, 2024, ATLAS first became aware of unauthorized activity by a threat actor in an effort to access ATLAS information systems.1 As a result, ATLAS launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, ATLAS confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been compromised by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, ATLAS began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Financial information
On March 20, 2025, ATLAS began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notices provided to the Massachusetts residents, ATLAS is providing affected individuals with a list of the information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
