Elite Plastic Surgery Data Breach Investigation

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Hand & Plastic Surgery Centre, PLC, which does business as Elite Plastic Surgery, regarding its recent data breach. Today, Elite Plastic Surgery offers a full range of advanced cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures, including breast augmentation, rhinoplasty, body contouring, and general plastic surgery.3 In addition to facial and cosmetic surgery procedures, Elite Plastic Surgery provides advanced non-surgical skin care treatments and therapies, including laser treatments, Botox, injectable fillers, and other aesthetic services.3 Elite Plastic Surgery is headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Elite Plastic Surgery announced that the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been accessed. According to the breach notice, on or around January 29, 2025, Elite Plastic Surgery detected it was the target of a data security incident.1 As a result, Elite Plastic Surgery launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, Elite Plastic Surgery confirmed that sensitive personal information in certain files in its network may have been compromised by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, Elite Plastic Surgery began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Medical information
  • Health insurance information

 

As a result of the data breach, Elite Plastic Surgery posted a notice of the incident on its website. Additionally, on March 7, 2025, Elite Plastic Surgery began sending breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the website breach notice, Elite Plastic Surgery is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
