EPS is an industrial engine distributor based in South Carolina. In addition to the distribution and warehousing of engines, EPS provides applications engineering support, integrated product development and product support, remanufactured engines and parts, overhaul kits, engineered components for OEMs, fuel injection systems, auxiliary generators, and long-term product support.2 Headquartered in Rock Hill, South Carolina, EPS has an additional location in Ocala, Florida, and employs over 50 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, EPS reported to the Attorney General of New Hampshire that the sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, on January 7, 2025, EPS became aware of suspicious activity within its computer systems.1 As a result, EPS launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, EPS confirmed that sensitive personal information in certain files in its network may have been viewed and obtained by an unauthorized third party between January 1 and January 7, 2025. As a result, EPS began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Financial account information
On March 6, 2025, EPS began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notices provided to New Hampshire residents, EPS is providing affected individuals with a list of the information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
