System Pavers Data Breach Investigation

ABOUT SYSTEM PAVERS, LLC:

System Pavers is a construction and outdoor design company based in California. Founded in 1992, System Pavers is a designer and installer of outdoor living systems for residential homes across multiple states.2 Today, System Pavers provides and offers installation services for a variety of products, including pavers, turf, decking, lighting, yard accessories, as well as outdoor elements such as pergolas, BBQ islands, outdoor kitchens, fire pits, and more.3 Headquartered in Santa Ana, California, System Pavers has additional locations across six states and employs over 500 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, System Pavers reported to the Attorney General of Maine that the sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, on October 4, 2024, System Pavers became aware of suspicious activity affecting systems within its network.1 As a result, System Pavers launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, System Pavers confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been viewed and obtained by an unauthorized third party between September 20, 2024, and October 4, 2024. As a result, System Pavers began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. The exact type of personal information potentially exposed has not been made publicly available by System Pavers. However, according to state reporting guidelines, “personal information” can include the following types of information:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license or state identification card number
  • Account number, credit card number or debit card number, if circumstances exist wherein such a number could be used without additional identifying information, access codes or passwords
  • Account passwords or personal identification numbers of other access codes

 

On March 3, 2025, System Pavers began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notices provided to the Maine residents, System Pavers is providing affected individuals with a list of the information impacted and 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
