Oceanside is a glass and tile manufacturer based in California. Founded in 1992, Oceanside produces over 200 different handcrafted products, including tile and glass for pools and outdoor spaces, and interior spaces such as bathrooms and kitchens.2 Additionally, Oceanside offers a multitude of custom blends, gradients, and patterns to customers, as well as instillation services. Headquartered in Carlsbad, California, Oceanside employs over 200 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Oceanside reported to the Attorney General of New Hampshire that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, on August 17, 2024, Oceanside became aware of suspicious activity within its IT network.1 As a result, Oceanside launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Oceanside confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been viewed and obtained by an unauthorized third party on or around August 15, 2024. As a result, Oceanside began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. The exact type of personal information potentially exposed has not been made publicly available by Oceanside. However, according to state reporting guidelines, “personal information” can include the following types of information:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license or other government identification number
- Account number, credit or debit card number, in combination with any required security code, access code, or password that would permit access to an individual’s financial account
On February 13, 2025, Oceanside began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to New Hampshire residents, Oceanside is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
