Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating New MVT LLC, which does business as Magic Vacation Title regarding its recent data breach. The MVT data breach may have involved sensitive personal information belonging to over 1,800 individuals.
ABOUT NEW MVT LLC D/B/A MAGIC VACATION TITLE:
MVT is a title agency based in Florida. Today, MVT specializes in Disney Vacation Club™ transfers.2 Accordingly, MVT maintains escrow, prepares title and closing documents, performs title searches, sends out closing documents, and closes DVC Resale files on or before the contract closing date.3 Headquartered in Orlando, Florida, MVT employs less than 10 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, MVT reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. According to the breach notice, on or around July 23, 2024, MVT discovered that its third-party IT provider had experienced unauthorized activity on its network.1 As a result, MVT launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, MVT confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been compromised by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, MVT began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On December 10, 2024, MVT completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Financial account information
On February 3, 2025, MVT began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notices provided to Maine residents, MVT is providing affected individuals with a list of the information impacted and 12 months of complimentary identity monitoring services.
