O’Connor Corporation Data Breach Investigation

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, O’Connor reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, on December 2, 2024, O’Connor became aware of a network disruption that affected the operability of certain of its systems.1 As a result, O’Connor launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, O’Connor confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been viewed and copied by an unauthorized third party between November 23, 2024, and December 1, 2024. As a result, O’Connor began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On January 24, 2025, O’Connor completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Financial account information

 

On January 31, 2025, O’Connor began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notices provided to Maine residents, is providing affected individuals with a list of the information impacted and 12 months of complimentary identity monitoring services.
