Greenscape Data Breach Investigation

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Greenscape Land Design, Inc. (“Greenscape”) regarding its recent data breach. The Greenscape data breach may have involved sensitive personal information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

ABOUT GREENSCAPE LAND DESIGN, INC.:

Greenscape is a full-service landscaping company based in Massachusetts. Founded in 1987, Greenscape’s services include landscape development, commercial landscape maintenance, snow and ice management, landscape enhancements, seasonal color and décor, and tree care.2 Today, Greenscape serves both commercial and residential markets such as healthcare, education, community associations, retail, hospitality, public and municipality, homeowners associations, and more.3 Headquartered in Raynham, Massachusetts, Greenscape employs over 200 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Greenscape reported to the Attorney General of Vermont that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, on or around November 15, 2024, Greenscape detected irregular activity within its computer network.1 As a result, Greenscape launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, Greenscape confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been viewed and obtained by an unauthorized third party between November 14 and November 15, 2024. As a result, Greenscape began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social security number
  • Driver’s license number
  • Financial account information
  • Credit or debit card number

 

On January 9, 2025, Greenscape began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notices provided to Vermont residents, Greenscape is providing affected individuals with a list of the information impacted and complimentary identity monitoring services.
