Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Lexington Diagnostic Center (“LDC”) regarding its recent data breach. The LDC data breach may have involved sensitive personal information and protected health information belonging to over 29,000 individuals.

LDC is a locally owned and operated independent imaging facility based in Kentucky. Founded in 1988, LDC offers diagnostic radiology services, performing thousands of outpatient diagnostic imaging and radiology exams, such as MRIs, CT scans, ultrasounds, DEXA bone density testing, nuclear medicine, low dose CT lung cancer screening, and X-rays.3 Headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky, LDC employs over 10 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, LDC announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, on March 16, 2024, LDC became aware of unauthorized access to its network. As a result, LDC launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, LDC confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been viewed and obtained by an unauthorized third party between February 26, 2024, and March 16, 2024. As a result, LDC began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On November 26, 2024, LDC completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Geographic location
- Medical record number
- Patient account number
- Health plan beneficiary numbers
- Medical diagnosis/medical treatment information
As a result of the data breach, LDC posted a notice of the incident on its website. Additionally, LDC has begun mailing individual breach notification letters affected individuals. Based on the website breach notice, LDC is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
