PS Logistics Data Breach Investigation

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Carriage Purchaser, Inc., which does business as PS Logistics, regarding its recent data breach. PS Logistics is a transportation and logistics solutions company based in Alabama. Today, the services offered by PS Logistics includes asset transportation, brokerage, third-party logistics, supply chain partnerships, and equipment sales and leasing.3 Additionally, PS Logistics’ core transportation management technology system allows it to interconnect its wide range of logistics services and monitor its nationwide network effectively.3 Headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, PS Logistics has over 25 locations across the United States and employs over 1,000 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, PS Logistics reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed. According to the breach notice, PS Logistics recently discovered that an unauthorized actor had accessed its network.1 As a result, PS Logistics launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, PS Logistics confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been compromised by an unauthorized third party on or around February 20, 2024. As a result, PS Logistics began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license number
  • Government issued ID number (e.g., passport, state ID card)
  • Medical information

 

On December 19, 2024, PS Logistics began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notices provided to the Maine residents, PS Logistics is providing affected individuals with a list of the information impacted and 12 months of complimentary identity monitoring services.
