Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Positive Behavior Supports Corporation (“PBS”) regarding its recent data breach. WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, PBS announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, PBS recently discovered that it had experienced a data security breach. As a result, PBS launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, PBS confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been viewed and obtained by an unauthorized third party on August 13, 2024. As a result, PBS began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On November 27, 2024, PBS completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Diagnositc code
  • Health insurance information

 

On December 11, 2024, PBS posted a notice of the incident on its website. Additionally, PBS plans to mail individual breach notification letters affected individuals. Based on the website breach notice, PBS is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
