WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Ariel Corporation reported to the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, Ariel Corporation recently discovered that it had experienced a security breach. As a result, Ariel Corporation launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Ariel Corporation discovered that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been viewed and obtained by an unauthorized third party between June 20 and June 27, 2024. As a result, Ariel Corporation began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On October 30, 2024, Ariel Corporation completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
