WHAT HAPPENED?

On October 29, 2024, Newpark detected a ransomware cybersecurity incident in which an unauthorized third party gained access to certain of its internal information systems.1 In response, Newpark activated its cybersecurity response plan to investigate the incident.1 the ransomware attack caused disruptions and a limitation of access to certain of Newpark’s information systems and business applications supporting aspects of its operations and corporate functions, including financial and operating reporting systems.1 On October 29, 2024, Newpark reported the incident in a Form 8-K filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. As of November 14, 2024, Newpark’s investigation is ongoing and further details have not been made publicly available by Newpark.
