Founded in 2009, Solairus’ core business is assisting owners with the safe, reliable, and economical operation of their aircraft.2 Solairus offers a full range of services in addition to aircraft management, which include private jet charter sales, aviation support services, and consulting.2 Today, Solairus manages over 330 private aircraft nationwide and employs over 2,300 flight crew and support personnel.2 Headquartered in Petaluma, California, Solairus has over 75 base locations.2
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Solairus reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, on August 31, 2024, Solairus became aware of suspicious activity within its computer network. As a result, Solairus launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, on September 12, 2024, Solairus confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been viewed and obtained by an unauthorized third-party. As a result, Solairus began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number
- Financial account information
- Health insurance information
On October 25, 2024, Solairus began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice mailed to Maine residents, Solairus is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
