WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, ATSG discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive protected health information in its systems may have been accessed. On October 4, 2024, ATSG filed official notice of the data breach with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office for Civil Rights. Though much information is still not known about the ATSG breach, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ reporting guidelines require entities to report data breaches when they involve protected health information. Therefore, it is likely that the ATSG breach included the protected health information belonging to over 909,000individuals. As a result of the data breach, ATSG may soon begin notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted.
