Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating New TSI Holdings, Inc., which does business as New York Sports Club (“NYSC”), regarding its recent data breach. The NYSC data breach may have involved sensitive personal identifiable information belonging to an over 19,000 individuals.

NYSC is a network of full-service fitness clubs based in New York. Founded in 1973, NYSC locations offer a wide variety cardio and strength equipment, functional training turf, barbell platforms and racks, personal training, group fitness, recovery lounges, and more.2 Today, NYSC’s network has grown to include over 30 gyms across New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Washington DC, and Pennsylvania. Headquartered in New York, New York, NYSC employs over 1,200 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, NYSC reported to the Attorney General of California that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. According to the breach notice, NYSC recently became aware that it had experienced a data security incident impacting its employees’ personal data. As a result, NYSC launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, NYSC learned that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been compromised by an unauthorized individual on or about July 27, 2024. As a result, NYSC began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Passport numbers
On September 26, 2024, NYSC began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to California residents, NYSC is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific type of sensitive information impacted and up to 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
