Additionally, IAMS helps insurance companies choose and promote a range of insurance products such as annuity, life insurance, and senior health insurance.3 Headquartered in Elkhorn, Nebraska, IAMS employs over 10 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, IAMS reported to the Attorney General of California that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed or acquired. According to the breach notice, IAMS recently learned that an unauthorized third party had gained access to its computer systems. As a result, IAMS launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, IAMS learned that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been viewed and obtained by an unauthorized actor between March 1, 2024, and May 3, 2024. As a result, IAMS began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Diver’s license and passport number
- Business email credentials
- Account numbers
- EINs
- Financial information
- Medical information
As a result of the data breach, IAMS began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to California residents, IAMS is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific type of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
