Propark Mobility Data Breach Investigation

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Propark Mobility (“Propark”) regarding its recent data breach. The Propark data breach may have involved sensitive personal identifiable information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

ABOUT PROPARK MOBILITY:

Propark is a national mobility and parking management company based in Connecticut. Founded in 1984, Propark specializes in parking, mobility, and electrification services.2 From event parking at Boston’s TD Garden to mobility and electrification services on Google’s west coast campuses, Propark delivers results as a national company with a personalized approach.2 Today, Propark has over 1000 locations in more than 140 cities nationwide.2 Headquartered in Hartford, Connecticut, Propark employs over 5,000 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Propark reported to the Attorney General of California that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, on January 18, 2024, Propark discovered unusual activity within its information technology network. As a result, Propark launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, Propark learned that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been viewed and exfiltrated by an unauthorized third party between January 15 and January 18, 2024. As a result, Propark began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On August 28, 2024, Propark completed this review. The exact type of personal information potentially exposed has not been made publicly available by Propark. However, according to state reporting guidelines, “personal information” can include the following types of information:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license number
  • Government issued ID number (e.g., state ID card number, tax ID number, passport number, military ID number) \
  • Financial information (e.g., account number/credit or debit card number, in combination with password/access code)
  • Medical information
  • Health insurance information
  • Unique biometric information
  • Genetic data

 

On September 3, 2024, Propark mailed data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to California residents, Propark is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific type of sensitive information impacted and 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
