WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, CLARK reported to the Attorney General of New Hampshire that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, on March 3, 2024, CLARK discovered suspicious activity on its network environment. As a result, CLARK launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, CLARK determined that this incident occurred as a result of a compromise of its third-party web developer, which allowed an unauthorized third party to gain access to CLARK’s environment using the web developer’s account.1 Additionally, CLARK learned that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and copied by an unauthorized actor between February 14, 2024, and March 3, 2024. As a result, CLARK began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On July 9, 2024, CLARK completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Passport number
  • Driver’s license number
  • Financial account number
  • Payment card number
  • Medical information
  • Insurance information

On August 22, 2024, CLARK mailed data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to New Hampshire residents, CLARK is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific type of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
