Allergy Medical Group of the North Area Data Breach Investigation

Recently, AMG reported to the Attorney General of California that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed. According to the breach notice, on February 29, 2024, AMG detected suspicious activity on one of its network servers. As a result, AMG launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, AMG learned that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been compromised by an unauthorized third party. As a result, AMG began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On July 25, 2024, AMG completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

• Name
• Address
• Date of birth
• Financial account number
• Patient ID number
• Health information
• Health insurance information

On August 19, 2024, AMG mailed data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to California residents, AMG is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific type of sensitive information impacted and 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
