Page Southerland Page Data Breach Investigation

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Page Southerland Page and Davis Brody Bond, which Page Southerland Page acquired in 2023 (collectively, “Davis Brody Bond”) regarding its recent data breach. Founded in 1952, Davis Brody Bond’s work encompasses university facilities, housing, corporate offices, industrial and institutional buildings.2 Today, Davis Brody Bond’s portfolio includes such diverse projects as a new infill building and the restoration of the historic New York Public Library; research facilities for Harvard University, Columbia University, and Princeton University; industrial facilities in Central and South America for Valeo, a global manufacturer; and more.2 Headquartered in in New York, New York, Davis Brody Bond employs over 50 individuals. In November 2023, Page Southerland Page, a multidisciplinary design, architecture and engineering firm, acquired Davis Brody Bond, expanding its New York presence.3 Page Southerland Page is headquartered in Washington D.C. and employs over 1,300 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Davis Brody Bond reported to the Attorney General of New Hampshire that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. According to the breach notice, on November 5, 2023, Davis Brody Bond experienced a network disruption that impacted certain computer systems. As a result, Davis Brody Bond launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, Davis Brody Bond learned that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been compromised by an unauthorized actor between November 2 and November 5, 2023. As a result, Davis Brody Bond began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On August 9, 2024, Davis Brody Bond completed this review. The exact type of personal information potentially exposed has not been made publicly available by Davis Brody Bond. However, according to state reporting guidelines, “personal information” can include the following types of information:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license or other government identification number
  • Account number, credit or debit card number, in combination with any required security code, access code, or password that would permit access to an individual’s financial account

 

On August 19, 2024, Davis Brody Bond mailed data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to New Hampshire residents, Davis Brody Bond is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific type of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
