Conlin, McKenney, & Philbrick Data Breach Investigation

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Conlin, McKenney, & Philbrick, PC (“CMP”) regarding its recent data breach. The CMP data breach involved sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information belonging to over 8,200 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, CMP reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, after detecting suspicious activity on its computer network CMP launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, CMP learned that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been viewed and taken by an unauthorized actor between January 17, 2023, and February 3, 2023. As a result, CMP began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:               

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Driver’s license or state ID number
  • Financial account information
  • Payment card number
  • Biometric information
  • Health information

 

On August 9, 2024, CMP began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Maine residents, CMP is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific type of sensitive information impacted and 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
