WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Pratt Institute discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Pratt Institute determined that an unauthorized third party accessed this sensitive information between December 13 and December 16, 2023. On July 19, 2024, Pratt Institute began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The exact type of personal information potentially exposed has not been made publicly available by Pratt Institute. However, according to state reporting guidelines, “personal information” can include the following types of information:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license or state ID number
  • Account number, credit or debit card number
  • Account passwords or personal identification numbers or other access codes
