The businesses and operations that Seitz serves includes the agricultural community, as it provides customized insurance solutions that include auto and equipment, crop, general liability, life and health, livestock, property, transportation, and workers compensation. Headquartered in Sidney, Montana, Seitz Insurance employs over 10 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On December 4, 2023, Seitz discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Seitz determined that an unauthorized third party accessed this sensitive information through an employee’s email account between December 4 and December 8, 2023. On July 10, 2024, Seitz began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of personal information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number
- Individual taxpayer identification number
- Financial information (e.g., account number, payment card number, payment card access information)
- Medical information (e.g., medical condition or treatment information)
