Santander Data Breach Investigation

WHAT HAPPENED?

On May 10, 2024, Santander discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Santander determined that an unauthorized third party accessed this sensitive information between late April and early May 2024. On June 18, 2024, Santander began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Bank account information
