WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Call 4 Health discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive information in its systems may have been accessed. On May 17, 2024, Call 4 Health filed an official notice of the data breach with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (“HHS”) Office for Civil Rights. Though much information is still not known about the Call 4 Health breach, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ reporting guidelines require entities to report data breaches when they involve protected health information. The HHS does, however, note the number of individuals affected by the Call 4 Health breach on its report list. Therefore, it is likely that the Call 4 Health breach included the protected health information belonging to 10,434 individuals.
