WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Carmel Minogue CPA & Associates discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Carmel Minogue CPA & Associates determined that an unauthorized party may have accessed this sensitive information through a vulnerability in the ConnectWise remote access program, which Carmel Minogue & Associates uses, between February 22 and February 23, 2024. On May 14, 2024, Carmel Minogue CPA & Associates began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Gender
  • Date of birth
  • Telephone number
  • Address
  • All employment (W-2) information 
  • 1099 information
