Tobii Dynavox Data Breach Investigation

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Tobii Dynavox discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive protected health information in its systems may have been accessed. On May 14, 2024, Tobii Dynavox filed official notice of the data breach with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office for Civil Rights. Though much information is still not known about the Tobii Dynavox breach, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ reporting guidelines require entities to report data breaches when they involve protected health information. Therefore, it is likely that the Tobii Dynavox breach included the protected health information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals. Recently, Tobii Dynavox began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted.
