Chicago Fire Football Club Data Breach Investigation

WHAT HAPPENED?

On October 25, 2023, Chicago Fire FC discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Chicago Fire FC determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information between October 22 and October 25, 2023. On May 15, 2024, Chicago Fire FC began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Driver’s license number
  • Passport information
  • Financial information (e.g., payment card number, payment card PIN, payment card expiration date)
  • Medical information (e.g., COVID test results, injury reports)
  • Health insurance information
