medQ Data Breach Investigation

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating medQ, Inc. (“medQ”) regarding its recent data breach. The medQ data breach involved sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information belonging to over 50,000 individuals.

ABOUT MEDQ, INC.:

medQ is a radiology workflow provider based in Texas. Founded in 1996, medQ offers a variety of imaging software and service solutions, including hospital and clinic solutions, teleradiology solutions, and billing solutions. Today, medQ’s provides hundreds of practices and enterprises with customer centered, automated workflows that increase operational efficiencies and enable healthcare providers to offer high quality and cost-effective patient care.2 Headquartered in Plano, Texas, medQ’s employs over 10 individuals and its flagship product is the Q/ris 3000.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, medQ discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed and encrypted. Through its investigation, medQ determined that an unauthorized party may have accessed this sensitive information between December 20 and December 26, 2023. On February 23, 2024, medQ began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of personal information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Driver’s license number
  • Health and treatment information
  • Health insurance and claim information
